Intake Procedure:Women call the Fund’s telephone number and leave a voice mail if no one is there. A volunteer or staff person will return the call within a day. The volunteer will help the woman make an appointment, give NAF information and usually pledge an amount. The volunteer explains that the clinic will bill the Roe Fund after the procedure. All clients are asked to send a thank you letter to the Fund with the knowledge that the letter may be used for fund raising after changes have been made to protect identity. The volunteer will send a self addressed stamped envelope and stationery in a plain envelope to the client, or the client can write a letter at the clinic. The client is instructed to let the volunteer know when she gets her appointment made so arrangements can be made for the clinic to bill the Roe Fund.
