Intake Procedure:After making an appointment with the clinic and if a patient discovers that the contraception or abortion needed is too expensive, she can tell the clinic she can't afford it. At this point the clinic should inform the patient of funds available to them. Standing agreement with Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island 401-421-9620 and Women's Medical Center of Rhode Island 401-467-9111 to help cover cost of abortions. Clinics determine need and allocate funding per patient. Standing agreement with Thundermist Health Center of South County 401-783-0523 and Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island to assist in funding contraceptive care for women.

Eligibility:Residents of and patients of clinics in RI and SE Massachusetts (including Cape and the islands), uninsured or underinsured, demonstrated financial need. Will not fund before 6 weeks.

Intake Procedure:Women (or clinics) leave a message on the voicemail, and the call is returned usually within 24 hours. it is preferred that she have an appointment. The Fund and the woman discuss her situation and the Fund lets her know how much the pledge will be. The Fund will then call the clinic to confirm this pledge. The Fund will also advise the woman as to where else she can turn for assistance, and will occasionally case manage.
