Intake Procedure:The Fund gets direct calls from clinics or other Funds asking for assistance for a client; generally, the Fund doesn't ask for specific information about those clients. Sometimes the women have been given the Fund’s number by the clinic or "primary" Fund & a few times the woman find the number on the internet. The Fund's number is a personal residential number so either Ann or Evelyn (contacts) will answer the phone or the woman will leave a message on the answering machine. Response back to the woman is usually within 2-12 hours - seldom more than 24 hours. Questions asked of each client: Name, address, phone number, clinic, appointment date, referral, $ they themselves can pay, partner assistance, number of children and ages, employment, and/or if they are a student. Women usually tell their story without hesitation; most in poverty situations. If they do not have an appointment at the time they first call, the Fund tells them to set up an appointment and then call back.

Intake Procedure:Women or clinic personnel call the Fund. The Fund responds directly or to voice mail. Intake procedure requires client location, age, referral source, contact with provider and date of appointment, total resources needed and what client can provide, client's contacts with other resources. A confidentiality statement is read. Other confidentiality considerations, including method of contact, whether or not other Funds may be contacted on client's behalf and permission for follow up. Women or clinics hear back from Fund within 24 hours.
